Inaugural Function:
The reception committee for the Chief Guest comprised the Principal, the Cultural Committee, the Librarians and the Captain & the Vice Captains of the school.  Ms. Dolly Thakore was welcomed in a simple but warmth filled ceremony and escorted directly to Principal Madam’s office for lunch and interaction with teachers.

The cultural programme began with heartfelt rendering of our school song. Floral tributes were offered to the Chief Guest and the Principal during the welcome speech by Radhika Barde. This was followed by a Vandana. Dhvani Porwal from Std. 4 and Megha Bhatacharya from Std. 12 paid a moving tribute to the libraries of the school. It was followed by 2 impressive skit presented by Elementary group. A ballet called Om Shakti Rupa was enacted by senior students. The program continued with a powerful dramatization of Nissim Ezekel’s poem “Night of the Scorpion”.  After this the Principal - Mrs. Revathi Srinivasan introduced the Chief Guest. This was followed by a pithy speech delivered by Ms. Dolly Thakore which greatly appealed to the younger generation sitting in the auditorium.

At the end of this function the Chief Guest was escorted to the Amritvarshini Hall with a short stop at the Junior Library to write a message to the students. A beautiful sight waited all at the Hall.  Our Art department had put in a lot of creative effort to create a display. Keeping in mind the theme of” Rasa swadam” and the fact that Ms.Dolly Thakore is from the field of theatre, the Art department had arranged for a display of a palette on which were displayed blobs of paint which represented the different human emotions. Theatre is after all a powerful medium to demonstrate emotions The Exhibition Halls were impressively arrayed with a huge variety of books. The Gymnasium wore a festive look with colorful buntings and balloons. The Chief Guest cut the ribbon to great applause and then lit the traditional lamp. She was then taken around the halls to see the collection of books.

The Inaugural Function was followed by the editorial meet in the ISC Library. Junior and Senior Section editors and assistant editors asked the chief guest questions in relation to her career and life experience. Ms.Thakore answered in a very free and frank manner.  She narrated some interesting anecdotes about eminent personalities. The one pertinent bit of advice that she gave the students was to be always true to them.  She was of the opinion that hard work combined with some amount of luck would lead to success.

All three days saw huge crowds patronizing the exhibition!
