Lamp Lighting Function
Lighting a lamp or a candle or for that matter even an incense stick radiates the energy. Light is considered as a symbol of auspiciousness, prosperity and abundance. It brings brightness with it and removes darkness.
Knowledge is the inner wealth that we all have. When we bow down to light a lamp we are bowing down to knowledge, the greatest form of wealth that no one can be robbed off. The oil lamp has a spiritual significance. The oil symbolizes our negative thoughts and the wick symbolizes our ego. When the lamp is lit the negative vibes are burnt out by knowledge thus promoting positive vibes. The flame of the lamp is always pointed upwards which means the light of knowledge will always take us to higher goals.
Thoroughly believing and practicing these ideals, the lamp lighting ceremony was conducted for the std.10 and std.12 students. This tradition of lighting the lamp was conceived in the year 2000, since then this is being practiced unfailingly with faith and success.
The Principal lighted the traditional lamp and Principal Madam along with all the teachers passed on this mantle to find success and making success a habit for the Sulonians by passing the lighted lamp to each and every student, wishing them success and blessing them to excel in the forthcoming board exams.
