Smt.Sulochanadevi Singhania School Celebrated the 41st Annual Sports Meet
The 41st Annual sports meet was celebrated on 10th & 11th December 2009 at Raymond Grounds. Competitive spirit was all over in the air at the Raymond Ground. The inaugural day of the Sports Meet began with the Slow March followed by the unraveling and thereafter the salutation of the school flag by the chief guest, Vice Admiral (Retd.)H.S.Malhi, AVSM VSM, Chairman and Managing Director, Mazagaon Docks, Mumbai and presided by Shri.B.K.Kedia, Vice Chairman, Board of Governors. The school had the privilege of having our very own Dr. Vijaypat Singhania, Chairman, Board of Governors as the chief guest for the second day. Shri. Rasik Shah, member, Board of Governors presided over on the same.
The Principal, Mrs.Revathi Srinivasan welcomed the dignitaries on the dias and the parents on both the days. The animated entry of this year’s mascot “The Bioscope” kept the audience glued to the seats. The bioscope was the apt way to portray this year’s Sports Meet theme “La Finestra – The Windows”. It depicted the peek through the magnanimous yester years and the future years to come. The chief guest inspected the troops followed by the march past and then the lighting of the torch. Oath taking ceremony was preceded by the beginning of the staging of skating, martial arts and gymnastics fete by the students. The athletic events were conducted thereafter. The highlight was tug of war.
The tug of war was flagged to start by the Chief Guest accompanied by the Principal. The feast to eyes were the display formations on both the days viz. La Perla depicting a drop, beaming faces depicting the sunflower and the Seamless breeze depicting the Japanese fan. The Chief Guest on both the days addressed the students motivating them and guiding them towards having an innovative approach and to think out of box to achieve success. The main mantra was to retain the modesty in oneself, above all!
The fanfare of both the days concluded with vote of thanks by the school captain Shubham Rathi, at his articulate best!
