| “Manzar: Once a while” - Teachers Day Fête
This occasion comes once in a year...
This year too the teachers’ day celebrations started with great zest and zeal. The Senate members along with the ISC students made every possible effort to make this ‘once a while moment’ special for teachers. The handwritten invites were distributed by each senate member to his/her beloved teacher. The rhythmic band at the background made the surroundings festive. These were glimpses of the pre teachers’ day celebrations.
Teachers Day Sept 05th 2009:
The Teachers Day celebration in Smt.Sulochanadevi Singhania School, this year, was an unforgettable experience. The quality of the programmes seem to be improving in leaps and bounds every year. There is something different to look forward to. The 10th standard students went in as teachers to teach standard 5th to standard 9th classes.
The student Senate got together with ISC students planned every small detail behind the iron curtain. They remained tight lipped without giving a slightest clue of the day's celebrations. And then “Manzar” started…..”Manzar” which literally means ‘once a while’. A series of song and dance sequences with small skits and entertainment quizzes, concluded by the school’s band playing ear-soothing music made “Manzar”,a once a while event in true sense.
The cultural items were fully planned and choreographed by students.
The Principal, Mrs.Revathi Srinivasan, a wonderful human being and a great educationist, appreciated the students efforts to make the teachers day special in her brief yet effective address.
It's very special to students as they get a chance to show their affection towards their beloved teachers. Moreover, the cultural events organized on the occasion provide the much-needed mental relief for students and teachers from the monotonous routine.
At the end of the day, every teacher was thanking his/her starts for making him/her a teacher.
To be in the company of the students is bliss, a bliss that nothing else can be replaced.
This celebration was followed by teachers gathering, wherein the seniormost faculty but youngest at heart, Mrs.Gladys Cabral and her team of budding youngsters paralleled by Ms.Bunty D’souza uncomparable compering kept the day’s mood lively by keeping all the teachers on feet by conducting entertainment programs.
This was followed by the Principal, Mrs. Revathi Srinivasan’s address to the teachers wherein she also shared Dr.Vijaypat Singhania’s, Chairman, Board of Governors message to the teachers.
The grand affair ended with a sumptuous lunch and teachers leaving the school premises with broad smiles and blessings for their students.
