The school has always been aware that besides academics children also need activities for the development of body soul and mind. In fact we are well aware of the importance of appreciation of aesthetics for the development of the soul.
Keeping this in mind we offer clubs for dance, music, dramatics, martial arts, etc. The following are some of the clubs that children can join this academic year.
| Photography : Photography is also considered as an art form in the modern world. The club will teach children how to handle the camera, basics of photography, essentials of good photography and appreciation of photography as an art form. |
Mass Communication / Advertising : This club will familiarize children with the idea of using images, words, and sounds present a product, service or idea. It will deal with advertising as it appears on radio, TV, internet and the print media. The art of writing effectively for different modes of media will be emphasized upon. |
| Public Speaking : Good communication skills are essential in leading, managing and working with others. Public speaking is a very important part of our communication skills. This club will deal with how to speak effectively and confidently in different public forums. Basics of good speech and its deliverance will be taught through presentations, slide shows and Cd. |
Cookery : This club will teach the basics of culinary skills, good nutrition and food hygiene. Children will learn to handle ingredients and produce mouth watering, nutritious dishes. |
| Music : Music is an art that, in one guise or another, permeates every human society. Therefore appreciation of music is a very important part of life. This club will deal with the appreciation of classical/ instrumental music of India. |
Dance : Dance is an art form or activity that utilizes the body and the range of movement of which the body is capable. India has a rich tradition of dance .This club will deal with the appreciation of different dance forms like classical, folk and contemporary. |
| Carpentry : Children will be taught the basics of carpentry in our own school workshop. This will give them the joy of making simple pieces of wood craft with their own hands. They can get familiar with the tools of carpentry like saws, chisels and hammers. |
Art (drawing and painting) : Since the earliest times people have drawn and painted. We can still admire cave paintings that were drawn over 20,000 years ago. In this club children will learn sketching, shading and colour work, apart from creating pieces of creative design. |
| Tailoring : Measuring, cutting and sewing work are dealt with in the tailoring club. Tailoring is a useful skill besides helping in development of designing patterns. |
Environment/Science : All living beings are products of the environment. It's a collective name of all the natural, social, cultural forces, and their influences prevailing on the earth. The club aims to create awareness of living in harmony with nature through field trips, experiments, etc. |
| Martial Arts : The martial arts are eastern fighting skills developed over the centuries. Children are encouraged to practice these fighting skills to learn the art of self defence. It also helps to produce a disciplined mind as well as a healthy body. |
Origami : Origami is a Japanese art of paper folding. Variety of models and figures can be made with the folding techniques of paper. It can be used to decorate gifts and homes. Children interested in craft can join this club. |
| Reading And Writing : Reading and writing skills are extremely important both for academic reasons and communication purposes. Experts in this field use different exercises which make s a child use both the left and the right brain. |
Dramatics : Dramatics helps children to conquer stage fear, enact confidently and enunciate properly. It also helps in developing proper body language and use correct gestures. Besides children have lots of fun while expressing them selves on stage. |
| Chess : Chess calls for the ability to plan moves and recognize threats several steps ahead. This leads to the development of extra ordinary mental powers developed by playing and practicing thousand s of games and studying various aspects of the games. Children will learn to strategise and improve their mental abilities. |
Re-Cycling Waste : Recycling involves processing used materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage.Children will learn the techniques of waste managemnt through the 3 R's i.e. reduce, reuse and recycle.This will help the children to live a more eco-friendly life. |
