Beginning from the KG class where children studied about the different trees around the world and had story narration sessions and puppet shows to the students of Class 9 who studied about urban pollution as a global phenomenon every child of the school was reveling in the different activities that they took part in. While class 1 dramatised about world cuisines class 2, 3 and 4 worked on continents, games-sports and rivers respectively. Students of class 5 explored the great structures around the globe and class 6 students went global and acted local by dressing up in popular traditional world costumes. Class 7 students questioned the effect of the West on Indian children and class 8 studied the Weather of the world.

international weekOn the concluding day of the School International Week - 13th of January the Directory of British Council – West India region – Ms. Sam Harvey came to our school as Guest of Honour for the concluding programme of the School International Week celebrations. The Sulonians put up a wonderful show wherein they danced to Scottish and Korean tunes, did a puppet show based on a traditional English folk tale and presented a perfect amalgamation of the resonating octaves. The objective of the week long celebrations was met when the Sulonians were complimented by the Guest for their exemplary efforts in showcasing the school’s international activities and weaving them into the curricular fabric of the school. Ms. Sam interacted with a few students who were able to share their learning about their respective project work with confidence and conviction.

What began as a small step in the area of global curricular linking has today proved to become an integral part of the curriculum – so say the Sulonians who surely brought the World home this week!!! Kudos to all.
