Congratulations to the school for ISA Award

The School is the proud winner of the INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD – ISA. This is the second consecutive year the school has won this award which will be valid up to year 2013.

The Principal received the award from Mr.Mike Nithavrianakis – British Deputy High Commissioner, Southern India and Mr. Paul Sellers – Director South India, British Council on the 20th of November held at the High Commission’s residence at Chennai.

The schools with whom we collaborated for this award are our long-standing partners – Lillington Primary and Myton High School as well as a host of other schools like Holland Park, Mid CalderPrimary, Cromptonview, Cradlehall, Churchfields, Bar-Lev High school, Wallace Elementary school, Boonville High School, Wallace Elementary school and many more.
Working towards winning the award has indeed been an enriching journey for the students as well as the teachers. Different projects showcasing India and bringing out the Indian aspect were done. Effects of global warming, different types of houses in India, different crops grown in India, festivals of India, Yoga, Rivers of India are some of the projects done by young Sulonians. The novel concept of celebrating the School International Week where-in children participated in the on-line Globe Trotter contest was also show-cased. The volume of work and the students-teacher involvement was truly commendable.
While the award has given the required impetus it has also affirmed our faith that educating is complete in it’s achievement only if it transcends borders and gives students an insight into global perspectives. Connecting classrooms and enriching educational experiences through overseas partnerships is the true essence of the school international programme.

As we move into the 6th year of International tie-ups there is a sense of having successfully taken a steady step in the right direction. This year too we have had many exchanges like textiles, Maths Quizes, Weather and Climate in India, Traditional clothes, Indian theology, Wild life, Traditional Indian games etc. Besides this there have been teacher-guided on-line interactions between Sulonians and a school based in Denmark. It was a rather interesting exercise as the children on both sides decided during the chat session itself what they would like to share and want to know.

As we march ahead with enthusiasm our next event on the International front will be the celebration of the School International Week in the new calendar year.

Congratulations to one and all for having brought the award back home.
