My Experience ...

Journey From Student To A Teacher - Ranjana Pandey

In a corner of my heart still I have preserved a faint memory of the first day of my school. A little girl holding hands of her mother was brought to the school.

I was taken to my class by Tarabai.  On entering my class I felt a little relaxed seeing a beautiful lady smiling at me. She was none other than my Jr. Kg. teacher Ms. Lily Antia. She was so loving and caring that the feeling of leaving my house vanished.
Slowly I started growing and liking the ambience of my school, the Gopalvan, the Library, the piano played by Mr. Dhigude, the K. G. Park and the school ground. Truly, a school plays a crucial role in the development of the child. The number of co curricular activities, competitions, opportunities that are there in this school might not  be there in any other school. On the other hand the motto that educators follow here of giving equal opportunities to all ensures that each and every child develops to the best of his/ her abilities.

As a student I always admired my teachers and always tried to imitate them. My passion towards the profession of teaching was rooted during the early years of my school life. I passed out the 10th in the year 1998. After stepping the outside world the name of the organization in which I did my schooling kept me apart from others. Only then I realized the fame which was associated with the name Singhania. I successfully completed my graduation and B.ed. from the Mumbai University.

To satisfy my urge to teach I used to deliver lectures in coaching classes during my college days. The most unforgettable incident I would like to share was my first demo lecture where very unknowingly I imitated my 8th standard geography teacher Mrs. Daya Gupta while teaching a concept South West Monsoon winds and I was selected amongst fourteen teachers.

After completing my B.ed. degree, I joined a CBSE school. After a year of experience I got to know about the vacancy in my school. I dropped my resume and was selected. This is my fourth year in Singhania school but I feel as if I have spent my entire life here first as a student and then as a teacher. It is a pleasure working with my own teachers such as Mrs. Chidgopkar, Mrs. Elaine Rozario as a colleague. I feel that still I am a student learning from them the art of teaching.
