Sports Day - 2011 - 2012 ...

The 43rd Annual Sports Day was a gala event of mammoth size. A collaborative effort and meticulous planning of the staff along with the tenacity and zeal of the students, it proved ‘The strength of the team is its each individual members, while the strength of each member is the team.’

The theme of the Sports Day ‘One Nation One World’ showed our aspirations for a seamless world, a world where human boundaries are absent and only global citizenship prevails.

The chief guest for the event was the athlete of imposing reputation , Mr. Adille J. Sumariwalla working president of Athletic Federation of India, an Olympian and Arjuna Awardee. Mr. Rasik Shah presided over the  function.

For the first time in the history of our school there was live telecast of our Sports Day exclusively to the pre-primary section of the parents.

The crowing glory of the day were the display items that ensures coordinated and synchronized mass participation. The ideas that they projected of

Std I & II - High, Higher, Highest
Std II & IV - Umbra
Std V & VI  - Phoenix Hope
Std VII & VIII  - Harmonic steps
Std IX, X, XI & XII - Aerial Medley

reaffirmed the idea of one heart, one soul, one nation, one world.

Another item of interest was the Tug of War between the ex-sulonians and the ISC students. The recipient of the Best House Trophy was the Vindhya House with 818 scores to its credit followed by the Himachal House with 793 points. The chief guest appreciated the school for its commendable performance.

KG Sports Day ...

Singhania school conducted the first ever K G SPORTS DAY on 17 Dec 2011.

The tiny tot Sulonians were all geared up to put their best foot forward.

The sports started with a float symbolizing the harmony among animals. The star Sulonians walked past the Grand stand waving to Principal Madam and the enormous crowd gathered there. There were races where little red hens fed their chicks, where little bunnies   had to pick a carrot from a basket of vegetables, where ferocious tigers tried to catch the deer and many more. Each of these races  had  enthusiastic participants.

Then came the unexpected, the race for the parents. Jr. K.G. fathers had to find the footwear of their wives, help them wear it and run to the finishing line !!  It seemed like the days of Cindrella are not over yet  !! Sr. K.G. parents had a race more demanding. The men folk had to blow a balloon and the couple had to balance it between their forehead and race to the finishing line.   What was outstanding was the response to the call for participants. Before we knew it, we had more than we could handle and had to settle for first 8 couples.

The highlight of the evening was yet to come. It was the display item by the tiny tiger cubs and the tiny fawns of Sulochanadevi  Singhania School.

They marched forward to the beat of the drums and took their positions with absolute perfection. With rapt attention they waited for the cue to start exercises and then there was no stopping them, till their mass drill was complete. What a marvelous display by the 4 & 5 year olds !!

The entire sports day event was compered by students of std. 4viz. Jordan Soans, Aresia Philips and Disha Birla. Though it was their first experience, no one could miss their confidence. The children carried it off very well and received a lot of appreciation for their efforts.

The day culminated with the winners receiving prizes for each event and prizes for parents too.  The sports meet came to an end with  the national anthem. A  memorable day indeed in  the history of our school!
