Every training program is designed to respond to higher standards and initiatives in the educational sector. This leads to personal & professional empowerment for every individual in the school, true to the school’s motto of ‘offer equal opportunities to all so they can rise to their fullest potential’.

STRESS MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP on 9th SEPTEMBER 2011

The usual Friday post - teaching activities like cell meetings,  discussion on the coming examinations, stock taking of internal assessments were kept aside on 9.9.2011 - as teachers and H.O.D’s and Principal Madam gathered in the Hamsadwani Hall  to attend a workshop on a Stress Management Programme. The guest - speaker for the day was the Director of Nrityanjali Group, Dr. Tushar Guha. Dr. Tushar had been conducting programmes on personality development and employee empowerment for a long time.

He started his presentation - emphasizing on the importance of constructive role that ‘stress’ plays in our life. ‘Stress’ or ‘pain’ can be the natural corollary of a sincere approach towards one’s commitment or profession. Hence ‘stress’ is not a negative term as such. It is ‘we’ who take it in a wrong perspective. Armed with qualifications, highlighting one’s assets and keeping a tab on the negative traits can result in a harmonious ‘work - life’ balance. Soft spoken, honest to the core, a subtle sense of humour - and the dancer that he is - Dr. Tushar Guha made every moment of the presentation a hilarious look at a teacher’s life. Melodramatic at certain points, calling a spade a spade, making a dig at the who’s who, at all and sundry, the one and a half hours was a truly unwinding session. The initial reluctance and usual conclusion - drawing of the pre-session, hours gave way to a really rib tickling - experience, which for many participants had been a medicine. Laughter is a medicine for all of us and once again it was proved by Dr. Guha whose Bengalee sense of humour struck the right cord. As the session ended, the departing crowd went home with a sense of rejuvenation and relaxation which is really difficult to achieve in this ruthless competitive world.
