IB GLOBAL CHOIR

Jul 06, 2020
There could not have been a better time for the remake of the charity single “We Are the World,” originally composed by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie to provide relief to a famine-stricken Africa in 1985. Thirty-five years hence, when the world is reeling under the impact of the pandemic, the IB Global Choir brought together students from more than fifty-five countries to unite under the umbrella of ‘We are the World IB CAS Project’ to spread positivity in a despairing world with the re-recording of the song, this time sung by IB students of the world. IBDP students of the school, Ananya Singh and Divya Jairam were a part of the choir and they claim that it was a memorable experience for them. They felt that the song conveys the message of solidarity and hope that the world will recover from this crisis and that it is important to spread cheer in a sad world that is battling the loss of lives. It was also an opportunity for them to meet other IB students from across the world while staying in the confines of their own home.
